Devi and Mitochondria (A poem)

We inherit our mitochondria from our mother.
The spark of life within our cells begins with her.
From breath and food, they weave energy. Sacred alchemists.
Spinning light from air and earth.
Ancient beyond memory,
they lived before our genes.
With each inhale, we nourish them,
and they, in quiet devotion, nourish us.
We came from Devi.
She pulses in our being,
She breathes in the rhythm of our cells.
What we call energy is none other than her.
flowing through us,
becoming us,
holding us.
Energy is how consciousness moves.
how it sings, how it loves,
how it remembers itself in form.
